An Apple Picking Wedding Welcome Party

Morgan and Brian’s welcome party in Maine at Beth’s Farm Market was so unique and truly was the perfect welcome wedding party for their destination wedding in Camden, Maine. Morgan and Brian are originally from Texas. They come to Camden every year and knew they wanted to have their wedding here. It’s the perfect embodiment of them together. Morgan loves the mountains and forest while Brian loves the ocean and moody scenes. Camden beautifully mixes the two settings into one. The city itself is known as the city β€œwhere the mountains meet the sea”. There couldn’t have been a better location for Morgan and Brian’s wedding than Camden, Maine.

Morgan & Brian’s Apple Picking Welcome Wedding Party & Weekend in camden, maine.

Maybe you’re wondering β€œwhy Camden, Maine?”. In 2018 Brian and Morgan took a trip to Maine. Morgan wasn’t about to spend one more fall in the Houston heat and desperately wanted to head northeast. She had been to Maine before as a kid and decided it was time to go back. She tried to sell Brian on the idea by talking up Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but spent too much time talking about how cool the tides were. Brian, who grew up on the Texas coastline, was adamant he had seen tides and was not excited by them, but enjoyed travel and was willing to give it a go for the food and craft beer that Maine is well known for.

On that first trip they took a day to travel from Portland to Bar Harbor with no plans other than to stop at what was pretty. This meant they barely made it up the coast line before the sun had set, passing Camden in the dark. On their way back from Bar Harbor to Portland they finally stopped in Camden. It was the library, located off route one, and the harbor that had caught their eye. After pulling over they wandered through the amphitheater, strolled the library, and then sat in the park looking out over the harbor. Morgan told Brian if they were ever to decide to get married she would want something like this to be the setting. Brian also agreed that the tides were much cooler to see in Maine. They went back to Maine and stayed in Camden every year since (minus the pandemic).

Morgan and Brian did a wonderful job at incorporating tons of fun fall activities like the apple picking, corn mazes, and plenty of opportunities for leaf peeping! They also wanted to ensure that local food and drinks were incorporated as well like whoopie pies, local craft breweries, and blueberry wine. They wanted to share their love for Camden with their closest friends and family, and give everyone a fun vacation that would also end in a party of a wedding! Many of their guests had never been to Maine before, so it was the perfect opportunity to create new and lasting memories with their loved ones.
